Parent Direct Notice

Last updated: June 4, 2026

Notice Version: 2026-06-04 (v1)

This Parent Direct Notice is provided to you, the parent or legal guardian, before Arship collects any personal information from your child under the age of 13. It is required under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and the FTC's COPPA Rule at 16 C.F.R. § 312.4(c). Please read it carefully before creating a child account.

Plain-language summary. If you create an Arship account on behalf of your child under 13, we will collect a small amount of personal information from your child (display name, date of birth, voice recordings made by your child, messages, and basic technical identifiers) and share it only with your child's worship team — never publicly, never with advertisers, never with anyone outside the team. You have the right to review, delete, or stop further collection at any time. We use your email to obtain your consent. If you don't consent within a reasonable time, we delete your email from our records.

1. Why we collected your email address

Arship LLC has collected your email address (provided by you in the child-signup flow) for the sole and limited purpose of obtaining your verifiable parental consent to collect personal information from your child. Your email is not used for marketing or any other purpose unless you also accept those communications separately.

2. Parental consent is required

Arship will not collect personal information from your child, use it, or disclose it, unless you have provided verifiable parental consent. If you choose not to consent, we will not proceed with creating the child account. We will also delete from our records the email address you provided here, as described in Item 6.

3. What we collect from your child and how it may be disclosed

If you provide consent, Arship will collect the following personal information from your child, used and disclosed only as described:

To whom your child's information may be disclosed:

4. Where to read our full Privacy Policy

Our complete description of our information practices is at: arship.app/privacy-policy. The Children's Privacy section is at arship.app/privacy-policy#children.

5. How you provide verifiable parental consent

Arship uses the following procedure to obtain your verifiable parental consent, designed to make sure that the person consenting is actually a parent or legal guardian:

  1. You create your own Arship account as an adult, using your own email address.
  2. You verify ownership of your email address by clicking the verification link we email to you.
  3. Within a reasonable time of that verification, you complete a recent-reauthentication step (signing in again) to confirm it is you, then begin the child-account creation flow.
  4. You review this Parent Direct Notice and our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  5. You affirmatively confirm in the app that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child and that you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your child's personal information as described in this Notice.

This procedure is more rigorous than simply taking an email address at face value: your email is verified, your identity is confirmed by reauthentication, you are rate-limited to a small number of child-account creations per day to deter misuse, and a tamper-evident audit record of your consent is retained for compliance purposes.

If you have any reason to believe that someone other than the parent or legal guardian has created a child account using your email, please contact us at support@arship.app and we will investigate and, if necessary, delete the account.

6. If you do not respond within a reasonable time

If you do not provide verifiable parental consent within a reasonable time (we use a window of 30 days), we will delete from our records the email address and any other personal information collected from you for the purpose of obtaining your consent. We will not retain it for marketing or any other use.

Your Continuing Rights as a Parent

Even after you provide consent, you remain in control of your child's account at all times. You have the right to:

Automatic Transition at Age 13

When your child reaches their 13th birthday, the account is automatically migrated to a standard Arship account: parental controls relax, password sign-in becomes available, and you receive a notification email. We retain a compliance audit record of the parental-consent period (containing hashed identifiers only) as described in our Privacy Policy.

Versioning

This Notice is versioned. The version you accepted at consent time is recorded in our system. If we make material changes to this Notice that affect how we collect, use, or disclose your child's personal information, we will notify you by email and require renewed consent before continuing the affected processing.
